Event Summary:
HR practitioners gather to top up their knowledge, share successes and lessons-learned, and take-away practical tips, tools and techniques.  Participants are encouraged to bring real-life HR-related scenarios, challenges/questions and/or best-practices that they would like to share and/or see discussed by the group. The Roundtable Leader will guide the dialogue and encourage participation.
Topic:  A Simplified Approach to Collective Agreements
Let's face it, collective agreements are challenging to understand, with all of the clauses, sub-clauses and various complex situations. There are many ways to assist in the understanding of any collective agreement article and to demystify what many people think is a difficult complex process. A discussion will be around one approach to interpretation, thus allowing the familiarization and building comfort to show how it can be applied successfully to just about any provision in any collective agreement. With this knowledge, interpreting an article and applying it to actual workplace situations can then becomes easier and less challenging.
Roundtable Facilitator:  Anthony Bone, CPHR currently works as a civilian employee for the Civilian Human Resources Service Centre (Pacific) located at CFB Esquimalt as a Senior Labour Relations Officer.
