Due to an unexpected matter, our previous topic for February on The Meaning and Purpose of Land Acknowledgements as a Step in Reconciliation has been postponed.

Our new topic is now Women in Leadership

This will now be a presentation on women supporting women at work that Jackie Connelly, CPHR originally gave as part of InnovateWork’s Passion Series, West Coast and to hear from CPHR’s 2020 Rising Star Award recipient Sharde Long about the upcoming Women in Leadership panel event happening on March 11.

Roundtable Host: Meredith Campbell-Jess, Manager of Professional and Continuing Studies at Royal Roads University, has a background in learning and training, with over 18 years experience in both private and public sectors. She holds a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Human Resources Management from RRU and brings the natural ability to view problems through the eyes of the employee. In her current role, her portfolio includes the for-credit graduate certificate programs and the open enrollment suite of programs. She is continuously planning for improvement and looking for opportunities that foster positive change in organizations. Striving to find innovative possibilities, she loves helping people find opportunities for success and growth.

Roundtable Host: Jackie Connelly, CPHR, Organizational Development and Employee Experience Leader at BC Transit, began her career in human resources at Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence (PISE) and is currently a member of the People and Culture team at BC Transit. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from UBC and a Post Degree Diploma in Business Administration, Human Resource Management & Leadership Option from Camosun College. Jackie has previously been responsible for transit operator recruitment, launching a new, organization-wide employee recognition program and providing HR generalist advice to a variety of client groups including asset management, IT and finance.
