Event Summary:
Meet with your industry connections for the construction industry to have an open roundtable discussion about what's going on for you currently - share stories, successes and challenges in a safe community virtual gathering.
Topic: Do you ever ask yourself “how do we make our organization welcoming, inclusive and free of bullying & harassment?” Well the Builders Code is a great place to start! The Builders Code is a standard code of conduct for workers on construction sites in BC. It defines an “Acceptable Worksite” as the starting point for reducing risk and ensuring a safe and productive environment for all workers.

FOCUS – Focus on the positive outcomes of retention, safety, risk reduction, and productivity to facilitate the ‘unlearning’ of attitudinal biases and stereotypes.
BUILD – Build the awareness and competencies of management and workers to create a worksite culture that is welcoming, supportive, respectful and productive for all workers.
DEVELOP – Develop the specific knowledge and skills to confidently identify and address incidents on the work site.
MOTIVATE – Motivate all crew members to accept their role and responsibility for maintaining a healthy worksite culture by treating all colleagues with respect, dignity and consideration for their wellbeing.

Community of Practice Facilitator: Jessi Dhanju, Employer Advisor, for an exciting information session on what the Builders Code can do for you and your organization!
