events are peer-to-peer discussion groups, and members play an active role in sharing
knowledge and building community. Confidentiality is requested amongst the
members present. Roundtables are not recorded for later viewing.
Topic: DEIR Metrics from a Qualitative and Quantitative Spectrum Oh My
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) are vital considerations for organizations and communities aiming to foster a more equitable and welcoming environment.
In our journey to understand DEI, we delve into the world of qualitative and quantitative data, two distinct but interconnected approaches that provide valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
Roundtable Hosts:
Tanya Ponnan (she/her) is a Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR) professional with over 20 years of HR experience, coupled with NGO international development, and post-secondary educational work locally and internationally. As a coach, mentor, EQi2.0 practitioner, and Intercultural Development Inventory assessor, Tanya utilizes her HR experience to assist businesses to implement diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) strategies and initiatives towards our ever-growing workplaces.
Tanya holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Arts, Global Leadership from Royal Roads University with her research focused on inclusion programs in Metro Vancouver’s organizations, educational institutions, and civic communities. Her research was shared at the International Leadership Association’s virtual DEI summit in 2021.

Andrea MacDonald (she/her), CPHR Candidate- Andrea is an HR Consultant focusing on DEI and Workplace Investigations.
Andrea works with organizations to bring a sense of belonging into the workplace. Andrea focuses on developing DEI strategies and policies, respectful workplace policies and training, stakeholder engagement, Employment Equity Policy development, and customized learning and development such as cultural competencies and anti-racism/anti-oppression.
As a life learner, Andrea has a Bachelor of Human Resources and Labour Relations; she is Certified in both 'Foundations' and 'Antiracism' through the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion. Andrea has also received her certification in Gender-based Analysis + through the Government of Canada and 'Aboriginal World Views and Education' through the University of Toronto. Andrea is also certified as a Psychological Health and Safety Trained Professional, and she is certified in Workplace Investigations.
