[Langley] Strategic HR Forum (in person)
Fraser Valley, SHR Forum Hosts, Jennifer Lowe, CPHR
& Catherine Von Heidenberg, CPHR will lead a conversation over dinner
at the Sandman Signature
Langley Hotel.
We
are asking registrants to bring their "hard rocks" either by emailing us in
advance or impromptu at the in-person dinner session. These are the
things that are on your mind a lot.
This
will be a roundtable discussion of shared experiences. Registration is
limited to 20 members of the SHR Forum and includes a dinner, juice/pop, coffee
or tea.
Jennifer Lowe, CPHR, currently works as the Director of People & Culture at Woodtone Industries, a building material manufacturer in Chilliwack, BC. She graduated from BCIT with a Diploma in HR Management and has been a CPHR for 10+ years. In addition to manufacturing, she has worked in restoration, construction, retail, and warehousing for almost 20 years. Jennifer is an HR generalist at heart, with experience in employee relations, performance management, recruitment, health & safety, benefits, compensation, and leadership development. Her favourite leadership quote to reference in 2023 has been “A great leader inspires people to have confidence in themselves” by Eleanor Roosevelt.
Catherine
Von Heidenburg, CPHR Meet Catherine, our dynamic Director of People and Culture at Rossdown Farms and Natural Foods. With a decade of HR experience in the food processing sector and a background in Financial Management, she's a seasoned professional. Catherine recently completed the Strategic Human Resource Program at Royal Roads in 2022 and is actively pursuing Leadership and ICF-Coaching Certification. She obtained her CPHR in 2018 and her HR Degree in 2015 from BCIT. In her role, Catherine oversees all aspects of HR, specializing in Leadership Strategy. As a key member of Rossdown's leadership team, she drives the Human Resource Strategy across three companies. Beyond work, Catherine is passionate about fitness and health. Her approach to leadership extends to all aspects of life—Family, Time, Proactive Health, and Relationships.

About the Strategic HR (SHR) Forum
Strategic human resource (SHR) management involves a future-oriented process of developing and implementing HR programs that address and solve business problems and directly contribute to major long-term business objectives.
The SHR Forum will provide attendees with the opportunity to engage with peers and discuss timely and relevant SHR business issues both online and in person. The SHR Forum will meet virtually six times a year and host one or two in-person regional dinner event(s) in Vancouver, Victoria, Whitehorse, Langley, the Interior and North. Meetings will be on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. A private LinkedIn group connects members between meetings.
The Strategic HR Forum is an application-based group within CPHR BC & Yukon for Members only and is open to members who are presently working as a:
- Director Level and above HR Professionals who presently hold a position strategically focused and responsible for people and culture strategy within their organization.
- HR Consultants who are focused on delivering executive-level strategic advice/support to organizational and people strategies.
Fees:
$35 per person – includes dinner and coffee/tea/juice
No alcohol served
