Wake Up HR

Connecting HR professionals every Friday since March 2020.

Since March 2020, HR professionals have been gathering every Friday morning to connect, learn, and support one another. More than 300 sessions later, Wake Up HR remains one of the most consistent and welcoming HR communities in BC.

Bring your coffee, tea, or smoothie and join this engaging, cameras-on Zoom conversation where HR and People & Culture professionals discuss current workplace topics, share resources, exchange ideas, and learn from one another's experiences. These mornings are meaningful conversations and practical peer-to-peer learning.

Hosted by a team of volunteer members and CPHR BC & Yukon staff, Wake Up HR takes place every Friday from 7:30 to 8:30 am (Pacific) and is open to members and non-members working in Human Resources.

Wake Up HR is for you if:

  • You value connection, community, and peer-to-peer learning.
  • You enjoy discussing workplace trends, challenges, and opportunities with fellow HR professionals.
  • You appreciate sharing ideas, experiences, and resources.
  • You enjoy interactive conversations and meeting new people through breakout discussions.

Wake Up HR is NOT for you if:

  • You are looking for a presentation, webinar, or formal training session.
  • You prefer passive learning over active participation.
  • You are not comfortable engaging in discussion or joining with your camera on.
  • You are seeking expert advice or a session with a structured agenda.

Wake Up HR is built on the belief that some of the best learning happens through conversation, connection, and community.
