This series of Roundtables focuses on the increasingly important relationship between Environmental Sustainability and HR. We know that environmental sustainability is having a long-term global impact on organizations, workforces and HR functions. Open to all members interested in the topic, whatever your role or level. 
 
 
 
Getting a grip on Sustainability Reporting (part 2) with Janice Anderson
 
This session will take a deeper dive in to providing an understanding of sustainability reporting: what it looks like, its importance, & some of the frameworks for effective reporting. Building on part 1 (you do not need to have attended  that to attend part 2), you will learn about how to measure, report, and communicate sustainability efforts better.  
 
We are delighted to welcome Janice Anderson CPA, CA, GCB.D, Senior Director, Technical Accounting & Sustainability Reporting at Nutrien to facilitate this discussion. Her deep knowledge and practical experience in this field (see bio below) will provide valuable tools and real insight.
 
 
We welcome all levels of experience to come, learn & ask questions at this interactive discussion.  Whatever your starting point is, this session will help you move forward in aligning environmental values to help drive positive change.
 
 
 Facilitator Janice Anderson CPA, CA, GCB.D demonstrates the critical connectivity between sustainability and financial reporting. She leads Nutrien’s Technical Accounting team, providing expert guidance on complex transactions and business accounting issues. She also oversees the Sustainability Reporting team, responsible for both mandatory and voluntary reporting initiatives. Janice is also a member of the Canadian Sustainability Standards Board, working to advance the adoption of sustainability disclosure standards in Canada.
Before joining Nutrien, Janice served as Associate Chief Accountant at the Alberta Securities Commission, where she provided specialized accounting services and co-chaired the CSA’s proposals on non-GAAP and other financial measures disclosures. She earned her designation and spent 12 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers in their national office.

Melissa Anderson, CPHR, MBA - Melissa is a Strategic HR Business Partner with over 20 years of experience in acquisitions, HR integrations, culture change, and leadership development. Her expertise lies in creating strategies that drive business performance and enhance employee engagement. Melissa is passionate about sustainability and previously led the Sustainability Strategy for 20+ sites across Canada focusing on environmental, energy efficiency and community involvement initiatives. Melissa obtained a Diploma in Business and HR from Camosun College and her MBA from Royal Roads University.
 
Heather Stickle, CPHR,SHRM-SCP - Director of People & Culture at Pela (maker of Pela Case & Lomi). Heather, is an accomplished business professional with over 20 years of strategic leadership experience in business operations & human resources, has been drawn to purpose-driven organizations throughout her career. She is now framing the HR strategy & growth infrastructure for Pela, a startup with a mission to create a waste-free future. Heather is a dedicated change agent passionate about creating work environments that fuel people's lives with purpose.
