Let’s be disruptive. Whether in a large or small organization, non-profit or private enterprise, those of us in HR positions have opportunities to be a force for positive change within our organizations. By disrupting the status quo in service of our company (and personal) values, we can impact meaningful change. In this roundtable, you’ll join Kerry Rempel in a facilitated discussion around three key questions: 1) What is “disruptive HR” in relation to key initiatives like EDISJ 2) How do we include “other” voices in light of these initiatives, and 3) What are some key pitfalls to avoid as we proceed in this work?

 Facilitator Kerry Rempel is a professor and former Chair at the School of Business at Okanagan College. There she has taught for over 15 years, in areas of expertise including strategic HR, training and development, non-profit management, entrepreneurship, and leadership. Currently she is working on her PhD thesis mapping and modeling the homeless serving field in Kelowna. She has also been a non-profit consultant since 2003 and volunteers actively in her community.  Host Zach Webster has a lifelong passion for helping others in their educational & professional goals. As well as being being a Roundtable Host for the last 3 years, he is a Program Coordinator and Corporate Training Specialist with Okanagan College. He works with industry members throughout the Okanagan to discover their training needs & connect them with customized training solutions. He holds a BBA (Hons) from Okanagan College and a BA – Philosophy, Politics & Economics from UBC Okanagan. Location: This event will take place online via Zoom.
