HR practitioners gather to top up their knowledge, share successes and
lessons-learned, and take-away practical tips, tools and techniques. Participants are encouraged to bring
real-life HR-related scenarios, challenges/questions and/or best-practices that
they would like to share and/or see discussed by the group. The Roundtable
Leader will guide the dialogue and encourage participation.
Topic: Culture Branding
Some of the questions you might be asking about your organization include:
* How do I create a strong culture?
* What does culture branding look like?
* Why should I worry about this? or even, What is this?
Attend this round table discussion to gain an understanding of how you can use your culture to strengthen your workplace.
Roundtable Facilitator: Tierra Madani, CPHR Candidate, HR Manager, Vancouver Island Brewing, was the 2018 recipient of the CPHR BC & Yukon Rising Star award. Tierra is the Human Resources Manager at Vancouver Island Brewing and has a keen interest in how Marketing and Communications work with HR to create a notable, well branded company.
Roundtable Lead: Sharde Long, currently works at the Victoria Women's Transition House as their HR Manager. She brings with her valuable work and volunteer experience in the non-profit industry and within Local Government. As an HR Professional Sharde is passionate about community leadership, providing HR/LR support to staff, training and development and building a positive workplace culture. Sharde is an Alumnus of UVIC with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Sciences, with a Major in Psychology and will soon complete her Post Degree Diploma in Human Resources Management and Leadership from Camosun College. In her spare time Sharde enjoys building connection in the community by volunteering and networking; she is also an avid long distance cyclist and enjoys being in the woods with her dog, a red bone coonhound named Elly.
