The Musqueam Indian Band –YVR Airport Sustainability & Friendship Agreement
Come join us at the first networking event of the fall!!
At this HR Community Showcase you will learn about the YVR Airport's 30-year Agreement with the Musqueam Indian Band, based on friendship and respect, to achieve a sustainable and mutually beneficial future for our community. The Agreement includes a number of scholarships and new jobs, one per cent of annual revenue share from YVR, identification and protection of archeological resources and support for ongoing operations and long-term development at the airport.
The Musqueam people are a strong, growing community of over 1,300 members. Many of their members live on a small portion of their traditional territory, known as the Musqueam Indian Reserve, located south of Marine Drive near the mouth of the Fraser River.
Vancouver Airport Authority is the community-based, not-for-profit organization that manages Vancouver International Airport (YVR). They have no shareholders and reinvest all profits back into airport operations and development—providing social and economic benefits for the region, while inspiring airports around the world and improving YVR for everyone.
Please join us to learn more about the Agreement, the jobs that were customized for Musqueam at the Airport Authority and how they used creativity to fill some of the positions, jobs around YVR for Musqueam, and more!
Your ticket includes access to the event plus food and one alcoholic beverage ticket.
