Event Summary:
Teach Don't Tell & Enhanced Working Practices

Want to create a learning culture in your organization and with your clients? Applying the principles of team based learning is a good start. EWP empowers people to learn within the context of their day-to-day work. Incorporating structured learning routines into our working practices, provides you with opportunities to accelerate employee development on the job in a supportive environment. Also, EWP leads to increased accountability and a feeling of project ownership among team members while deepening trust and confidence across the team. At the core of EWP is the Teach Don’t Tell concept which you’ll learn more about in this session along with five routines that you can implement in your work environment.

Robert Conrad has been in the learning and development field for 20 years as a facilitator, instructional designer, and learning solutions consultant. Most of his career was with PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers) and he is currently a learning advisor/supervisor with Kal Tire. He is also a part time instructor at SFU. In addition in the role as the Observing and Education Director for the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (Vancouver), he has successfully innovated how people learn and perform in the hobby of observational astronomy. While at PwC he collaborated with Johns Hopkins University teaching hospital to create and implement a team based learning program called Enhanced Working Practices which they use to teach new residents and doctors.
