Event Summary:
Roundtables are intended for peer-to-peer sharing and members play an active role in sharing experiences and knowledge to build community. Roundtables are therefore not recorded for later viewing.
Topic: The Business Case for EDI Getting buy in from the executive leadership for EDI strategies is critical to their success.
This month we will discuss ways to develop a business case for this important work, and look at ways to measure its ROI.
We will discuss what you find in articles such as the ones by Forbes, Mercer, and the Harvard Business Review which have all concluded that greater innovation and business growth is driven by a diversified workforce. We’re sure you are aware of other articles speaking to the benefits of EDI programs.
Bring your ideas about the top five (5) factors which ‘sell’ the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion business strategy and we will share the results with everyone via poll.

Karen Larsen is the Human Resources Manager for the UBC Department of Surgery, where she provides HR leadership and service to faculty and staff. She is a student of Diversity & Inclusion and explorer of different cultures for many years. Karen has completed the Certificate in Intercultural Studies, UBC Extended Learning and has worked as a facilitator with CUSO International for more than 13 years.
