Topic: Process/Document Review for bias
Have you wondered if any of your processes or HR related documents, such as job descriptions, applications, organizational charts, or performance reviews, have hidden biases?
In this roundtable, we'll look at your examples of any HR process or document to see if we can uncover gender bias, racial bias, or other unconscious biases with the aim of re-wording them to be more inclusive.
Karen Larsen is the Human Resources Manager for the UBC Department of Surgery, where she provides HR leadership and service to faculty and staff.
She is a student of Diversity & Inclusion and explorer of different cultures for many years.
Karen has completed the Certificate in Intercultural Studies, UBC Extended Learning and has worked as a facilitator with CUSO International for more than 13 years.
