Topic: D E I & R Beyond Window Dressing
We started our DEI&R Roundtable season with some definitions and what they mean to an organization and an individual.
Is your organization ready to commit to diversity, equity, inclusion, and reconciliation? What does that really look like?
Join us as we explore Connective's DEI and Reconciliation journey, one that goes beyond window dressing or a statement on a website.
This Roundtable session will be hosted and facilitated by Tanya and Yancy as co-host.
Roundtable Hosts:
Yancy Ochoa, CPHR (she/her) - As a member of CPHR BC since 2004, she has enjoyed participating in various roundtables and events throughout her career.
Yancy finds co-hosting a conversation on a topic that directly and indirectly touches lives is a small way to give back to the HRM profession. She currently enjoys the most rewarding leadership position in the Okanagan, traditional and unceded territory of the Syilx people who have been stewards of this beautiful land since time immemorial.
Tanya Ponnan, CPHR (she/her) is a CPHR professional with over 20 years of HR experience, coupled with NGO international development and post-secondary educational work locally and internationally. As a coach, mentor, change management, and emotional intelligence practitioner, Ms. Ponnan utilizes her HR experience to assist businesses to implement diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategies toward engaging our ever-growing multicultural workplaces.
She is an active board member with the Canadian Forces Liaison Council (CFLC), BC Division, Justice Institute of BC (JIBC) Foundation and LaSalle College Vancouver. In her free time, she is a walk leader volunteer for the Canadian Company of Pilgrims, Vancouver Chapter, as they prepare for their Camino de Santiago.
Tanya's role at Connective in a newly developed DEI Specialist position that includes leading the development and implementation of strategies and programs, and advancing Connective's commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging practices for all employees
