Summary:
How to be a Proactive Mentor and Protégé
This session is for members who have been accepted and matched in the 2022 CPHR BC & Yukon Professional Mentoring Program (PMP) throughout the Province.
Join us for a virtual discussion developed to support mentoring pairs.
This year we will focus on the following topics:
- Getting to Know your mentor/protégé;
- Making time to connect;
- Framing your language positively and provide correction;
- Celebrate and note all success;
- Sharing your own tales and much more…
Discussions with participants will be facilitated, and a respectful space for open dialogue and reflection will be maintained.
Facilitators:
Jocelyn Caldwell, CPHR - Mentoring Committee Member (VI) Jocelin is an HR Consultant, Workplace Facilitator and Career Coach with Reimagine Work. She has been on the Vancouver Island Advisory council since 2018 and has supported the mentoring program for several years.
Alana Marks, CPHR - Mentoring Committee Member (VI) Alana Marks, CPHR, has a passion for people, teams, and community-driven collaboration. She holds a degree in Psychology and Ethics, a certificate in Paramedicine, a post-degree diploma in Human Resources and Leadership, and she is a proudly designated CPHR. Alana currently works as the Regional Human Resources Lead (Western Canada) for Atlas Engineered Products, and she’s eagerly dreaming up new ways to connect, learn, and grow with the amazing group of people in the Building Well Community of Practice!

Online - Zoom Meeting - Zoom login information will be sent 1 day prior to the event date.
Video connection is recommended for the most engaging virtual experience and for security reasons, you will need to ensure your log in name is the name you registered with in order that we may allow you access into the zoom meeting.

5:30pm - 7:00pm (PST) 6:30pm - 8:00pm (MST)
Cost
This event is FREE for members who have been accepted and matched in the 2022 CPHR BC & Yukon Professional Mentoring, but pre-registration is required.
Registration Deadline - February 4th.
**This session will be recorded for later viewing and there may be photos taken for CPHR BC & Yukon marketing purposes, if you do not want your photo included please advise the event hosts**
