BC Job Connect: Connecting Employers to an Untapped Talent Pool
 
With a tight labour market situation, do you want to connect to an untapped talent pool? This session will show you how via BC JobConnect. BC JobConnect has been developed by the Immigrant Employment Council of BC (IEC-BC), and is delivered in Kelowna through a partnership with KCR.

What is BC JobConnect? 
Hint: An easy-to-use web-based tool for employers looking to hire; an opportunity to access an untapped talent pool; a way to build a diverse and inclusive workplace.
How does it work?
Hint: Registered employers are able to identify job candidates of interest based on profile information and supporting documents uploaded job seeking newcomers.
What are the benefits?
Hint: Constantly updated pool of talent; free service; flexible, multi-parameter searches; ongoing support from KCR employment services.

Kathy is part of the team at KCR Community Resources as a Settlement Worker with Immigrant Services providing settlement services and coordinating Employment Mentorship and BC JobConnect programs for Newcomers to Canada. Born in Canada, Kathy has lived and worked in Madrid, Spain for the past 20 years. She has worked as an Early Childhood Montessori Educator, developed curriculum and organized and ran English intensive courses and trainings in a variety of international companies. In 2015, she returned to Canada.
 
 
 
As free events, catering is not provided at Roundtables but a full selection of coffee, tea and food is available for purchase at the front counter. For previous attendees of Kelowna Roundtables, please note that that coffee and tea will not be provided in the back room going forward (as is consistent with other Roundtables elsewhere in BC).   
 
Seats are limited and Roundtables often sell out. You are required to register online in advance (first come, first served - if you register and are not able to attend, please advise so we can make room for others).
