HR practitioners gather to top up their knowledge, share successes and
lessons-learned, and take-away practical tips, tools and techniques. Participants are encouraged to bring
real-life HR-related scenarios, challenges/questions and/or best-practices that
they would like to share and/or see discussed by the group. The Roundtable
Leader will guide the dialogue and encourage participation.
Topic: Building Change Solutions
Are you curious about why people resist change?
With the rise of technology and the impact of a multi generational workforce organizations are having to be agile and adapt to change. The question is how? We know that over 70% of changes fail and that communication plays a significant role in the long term success of change, but what are the other controllable factors?
We invite you to come learn from our facilitator, Kristine Sultmanis, and your peers about how you can implement successful change in your organization.
Roundtable Facilitator: Kristine Sultmanis, HR Assistant, Canadian Morale and Welfare Services (Canadian Federal Government) is a goal-oriented, driven individual who is constantly looking for ways to improve herself and her workplace. She has a passion for connecting, educating and developing people. Kristine has a Bachelor of Commerce, Specialized Honours in Human Resources Management, is a Certified Life and Executive Coach, and is a CPHR Candidate. Kristine has taught over 100 clients how to ski. She has reduced onboarding time by 70% at a retail store she worked at. She successfully started and ran a home services business that made enough to fund her university education. Kristine’s ability to execute tasks, passion for organizational empowerment and her entrepreneurial spirit, made her a perfect addition to the organizational management consulting firm she started working for after she graduated. She worked with 4 CEO’s to set up the infrastructure of their small business and worked with the management team to determine the culture of the business as their team grew.
Roundtable Lead: Sharde Long, currently works at the Victoria Women's Transition House as their HR Manager. She brings with her valuable work and volunteer experience in the non-profit industry and within Local Government. As an HR Professional Sharde is passionate about community leadership, providing HR/LR support to staff, training and development and building a positive workplace culture. Sharde is an Alumnus of UVIC with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Sciences, with a Major in Psychology and will soon complete her Post Degree Diploma in Human Resources Management and Leadership from Camosun College. In her spare time Sharde enjoys building connection in the community by volunteering and networking; she is also an avid long distance cyclist and enjoys being in the woods with her dog, a red bone coonhound named Elly.
