The Impact and Importance of the Oz Principle
with Joanna Markin, CPHR, Manager - HR & Corporate Safety at the City of Nelson
 
Join the end-of-year West Kootenay breakfast roundtable to connect and learn with fellow HR professionals.
 
This session will focus in on the Oz Principle which examines the role of accountability in achieving business results and the improvement of both individual and organizational performances. Joanna Markin has overseen the implementation of the Oz Principle at the City of Nelson and has become a Certified Facilitator with Partner’s in Leadership in 2016. She will be providing an overview of what this this program has to offer, including individual and organizational results of people and how they dramatically improve when they overcome the deceptive traps of the victim cycle and take the Steps to Accountability.
 
Joanna Markin has been working for the City of Nelson as the Manager of Human Resources since December 2008, and in 2012 she was also given the responsibility for Corporate Safety. Prior to this, she spent 16.5 years with the Interior Health Authority starting as a Human Resource Consultant providing support throughout the entire region. Her most recent education includes graduation from the Strategic Human Resource Management program through Royal Roads University in 2012 and Local Government Management program at Capilano University in 2017.    . 
 
This Roundtable will also include time to ask your questions and share wisdom with other attendees. An ideal time to build community, connections, and profile.   
  
As we get started at 8am there will be networking time plus light breakfast provided. 
 
You are required to register online in advance. All welcome - both CPHR BC & YK members and non-members. When registering you are welcome to add a guest for free!
