Professional Mentoring Program Mid-Point Event (Burnaby)

Date: March 7, 2019
Location: Vancity - South Burnaby

CPD hours: 1.5

Event Summary:

Join us for the PMP mid-point event! (This is one of three date options of this event in the Lower Mainland.)

This session is for members who have been accepted and matched in the 2018-2019 Professional Mentoring Program (PMP).

It is a great opportunity to review your progress and celebrate your success with the program to date. We encourage you to continue to build strong mentoring relationships and achieve your mentoring goals in the second half of the program.

Please note that while it is great to attend these sessions with your Mentor/Protege we recognize that scheduling may not allow this to happen – you will still benefit from attending, even if the other half of your pair is not in attendance.

Understanding Your Values: Why You Do What You Do

“Values are like fingerprints. Nobody’s are the same, but you leave ‘em all over everything you do” – Elvis Presley.

Using the Personal Values Assessment (PVA) as the self-assessment instrument, participants will:
  • Understand what your personal values are, what they mean to you and how they show up in your life both personally and professionally;
  • Build and deepen your understanding of your top 10 personal values and review your personal report;
  • Identify your top 3 values, what they mean, what they look like in action, how they show up, what actions or commitments to make to make them more alive and more;

The session will include a mix of personal reflection questions to better understand your values report, small group or partners exercises and whole group discussions.

Prior to attending the workshop, participants will need to complete the Personal Values Assessment (PVA) and bring a printed copy of the report to the workshop. The assessment will take 10 – 15 minutes to complete and it is free of charge. The web link and instructions to access the PVA will be sent to registrants in advance of the session.

We hope you can join us to explore how a greater understanding of your values is like having your own personal “North Star”. Where will your values lead you?
