In June 2018 the Employment Standards Act Reform Project Committee released its recommendations for significant changes to the BC Employment Standards Act. We do not yet know what changes will be adopted by the Province but this session will review the key recommendations and prepare employers for changes that may be ahead.
Roundtable Facilitator: Marcia McNeil, Labour and Employment Lawyer, Pulver Crawford Munroe
has practiced in the areas of labour, employment and human rights law since 1990 and represents employers in the private and public sectors, particularly municipalities, Police Services Boards and high-tech companies.
Roundtable Lead: Alina Constantin, CPHR, is currently the Human Resources Manager at Grieg Seafood in Campbell River and she also teaches part time at North Island College in Campbell River and Courtenay. She has a Master and a Bachelor degree with specialization in Human Resources Management and a BCIT Human Resources Management Certificate with Distinction. She is a proud Chartered Professional in Human Resources and Payroll Compliance Professional. She has also been nominated as one of the 2016 and 2017 Top 25 HR Professionals in Canada by HR Reporter. With a glowing passion for the HR profession, Alina is hosting the Comox Valley Roundtables where she helps create engaging conversations between HR Professionals.
