Gaining credibility with the business is at the forefront of many discussions amongst HR professionals to date. It is important to new professionals and senior professionals alike. Join us for a thought provoking discussion to learn more about what has worked for some of the industry’s best.

CEO and President, Anthony Ariganello, CPHR will lead the discussion with our panel of CPHR BC & Yukon Board Members; Susan Ryan, CPHR; Susan Alley, CPHR and TJ Schmaltz, CPHR. 

Anthony (Tony) Argianello, CPHR - Anthony became CPHR BC & YK’s CEO in 2014. For the previous 11 years, he served as president and CEO of the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada (CGA-Canada), a self-regulating association of 75,000 accounting professionals and students. During this period, CGA-Canada achieved international recognition as a leading accounting designation. Previously, Anthony was president of Montreal-based Avon Canada, and also held senior-level financial positions including that of controller at Nortel Networks.  
Terrence (TJ) Schmaltz, CPHR - TJ Schmaltz started his career as a labour and employment lawyer in Vancouver working with a variety of public and private sector clients before moving into the HR world. In 2014, TJ became the VP of HR for Impark’s operations across North America. He speaks, lectures and instructs at SFU and BCIT on law, business and HR.  A proud and passionate CPHR BC & YK member, TJ became CPHR BC & YK’s Vice Chair in 2014 and has Chaired CPHR Canada’s National Standards Advisory Committee as well as several other national working groups and committees.
Susan Alley, CPHR - Susan Alley is a senior executive with over thirty years’ experience in corporate and consulting human resources management in both unionized and non-unionized environments. She has significant experience providing strategic and practical solutions to both internal and external clients in a variety of industry sectors.  Susan had her own small business consulting practice for five years and she was a faculty member at BCIT.  In addition to being on the Board of Directors for CPHR BC & YK she also sits on the Board of the Working Opportunity Fund.  
Susan Ryan, CPHR - Sue has worked for the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation as the Vice President & CFO for the past 10 years, since moving to BC from the Yukon in 2003. She previously held posts as Vice President & CFO of the Yukon Workers’ Compensation Board, and as Director, Finance, Systems, & Administration with the Government of Yukon, Department of Justice. She currently serves (since 2005) on the Board of Governors for Queen Margaret’s School on Vancouver Island as the Secretary, and as the Treasurer (since 2009) for Encore! Women’s Choir with whom she sings.
