Delivering impactful online sessions

In 2020 with the threat of COVID-19, training professionals found themselves working at lighting speed to convert in-person classroom training to online classroom training. In 2021, with the majority of curriculum online, the focus is – delivering impactful and engaging online sessions. Online training done well is surprisingly intimate, impactful, fun, and engaging!

Our focus during this interactive session will be on:

• Sharing your tips and tricks – what do you do/use to create engaging online sessions – come with your top 3 shares!
• The demonstration of various features and technologies that can increase engagement such as Mentimeter, Kahoot, videos, breakout rooms, emojis, chats, and polls.
• Participation in activities where you will experience using these technologies from the lens of a participant
• Group discussions to share knowledge and generate creativity
• Building an Action Plan to record you’re a-ha moments and key take-aways

Guest Facilitator: Alycia Rodgers, Senior Advisor, Learning at First West Credit Union

I have had the pleasure of working with First West for the past 27 years and was recruited by Learning & Development team in 2013 to design, develop and deliver in-house corporate training programs across the organization. I work with an amazing team of learning professionals with the goal to empower employees by strengthening their capabilities and increasing their confidence so they can perform to their highest potential. This role has allowed me to participate in the development of employees through learning while supporting the organization to increase performance.  My work is exciting and allows me to use my expertise in the financial industry while doing what I am passionate about, helping people grow, develop, and reach their goals.
