2019 ADRBC Symposium (Vancouver)

Date: June 10 — 11, 2019
Location: Morris J Wosk Centre for Dialogue

In Partnership with:
Program Summary:

Chaired by Carolina Barrocas, the "How is Med-Arb impacting the arbitration landscape in civil and family disputes?" will shed light on the use of Med-Arb in different settings and disputes. When parties find themselves in a serious conflict, and they try to avoid the expenses and inconveniences of litigation, mediation and arbitration are two of the most common alternative dispute resolution options. But sometimes it’s hard to predict which one is more suitable. So they might consider a hybrid approach – med-arb. For ADR practitioners and for the parties Med-Arb has its own challenges.

How to determine the line between the procedures? How to "unhear" what was not said under an oath? How to keep yourself neutral and focus on the dispute resolution? How to keep patience and work with the parties not moving too fast to the arbitration ending? Learn through the experience of our speakers how med-arb can be an effective tool in your practice.

Network, learn, and be on the cutting edge of ADR! The 2019 ADRBC Symposium will bring together a progressive, dynamic group of professionals including arbitrators, mediators, lawyers, in-house counsels, HR professionals, corporate and other users of ADR services. The eclectic line-up of speakers presenting at the 2019 ADRBC Symposium will explore a wide variety of topics related to the challenges, opportunities, new developments and rapidly expanding role of ADR in the 21st century.

The 2019 ADRBC Symposium will provide a valuable opportunity for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) professionals to interact with leading thinkers in the field, establish personal connections and discuss current issues and developments.
