FREE Webinar: Canadian and Provincial Immigration Challenges in 2025: Navigating the Impact on Employers and Workers
Date(s):
June 25, 2025
Venue:Online
- -, -
Website:Not available
Description:
This webinar will discuss how it is becoming significantly more difficult to recruit global talent and to retain such talent from a Canadian Immigration perspective. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) intends to approve 580,000 fewer temporary foreign workers and for 880,000 temporary residents to leave Canada this year. Employers will feel the impact of work permit and permanent residence program eligibility and operational restrictions, introduced since September 2024 and with potentially more to come. Understanding how to navigate these challenges will help employers continue to effectively recruit and retain top global talent.

In this webinar, you will:
- learn about the direct and indirect restrictions and challenges temporary foreign workers and their spouses now face when applying for initial work permits and extending work permits, including the feasibility of sponsoring such workers for a Labour Market Impact Assessment, and how recruitment strategies should take these into account.
- gain deeper insights into the ongoing barriers temporary foreign workers face in purusing permanent residence, including the feasibility of sponsoring such workers for a BC provincial nomination.
|
Who should attend:
• HR professionals who are involved in the employer's mobility or immigration program.
• HR managers who oversee such program and wish to gain a better understanding of the challenging Immigration environment that will likely exist until at least 2027.
