Several companies have Indigenous Employee Resource Groups which are provided a diverse set of mandates to encourage Indigenous employment and business objectives as well as other roles such as internal support to the larger workforce for purposes of cultivating better understanding of Indigenous culture and traditions. These groups are instrumental in the company’s employment Indigenous brand and strategy; however, they are often under-utilized. Given a clear strategy, Indigenous employees will have the information they need to ensure the ability to be ambassadors for your organization.
