PROGRAM SUMMARY

The HR discipline has required a more rigorous approach to address the expanding and varied needs of employers. It is considerably more complicated today with new emphasis on diversity, ERG and other company needs. As a consequence, HR professionals through their professional associations have adopted a new learning framework to ensure that they are developing the right competencies to properly steer the development of the workplaces, human capital, etc of the future. At the same time the Indigenous landscape has become more complicated resulting from more Indigenous legislative victories, growth in self government and self determination, reconciliation etc. Employers are also trying to respond to these new developments and there is a need to provide individuals working in HR with the skills needed to better attract, recruit Indigenous people and address other Indigenous refinements in areas such as ESG

Join us in a presentation about the needs of HR professionals and what a competency framework could look like to ensure that they acquire the skills and competencies needed. This webinar will provide instruction and learning about the following:

Learning Objectives:
  • Leading trends in the Indigenous landscape and why HR professionals need more professional development in this area.
  • Examples of competencies that HR professionals need to attain to deliver human resource planning and services to organizations that are regularly engaging with Indigenous people, businesses and communities.
  • A preliminary framework of the competencies HR professionals need to better equip them to work in companies that have needs in Indigenous employment, diversity and inclusion, ESG, and other needs.
